Portraits in the Park {York Region Photography Studio}

I just adore photographing little girls and babies in tutus, pettiskirts, white dresses and hair wreaths. So of course this session was super fun for me. I have a basement filled with pettiskirts and tutus in every size. It’s so nice to be able to photograph children and families outside during the warmer months here in Toronto, Ontario. There are very few months of the year that we can do outdoor portraits comfortably, so I am really enjoying it while it lasts. Our cold fall and winter will be here too soon and we will be stuck in the studio for many long months.

Ontario Photographers Meet-Up {Toronto Photographer}

In May I had the privilege of meeting a fantastic group of talented female photographers from all over Southern Ontario. It was a super hot day on the May long weekend but it was so fun to be back at my alma mater, University of Toronto, and photographing outside of Hart House brought back so many good memories. I loved studying at UofT and Victoria College and had a ton of fun when I attended there. We had some wonderful models who were real troopers to come downtown on the long weekend and have 10-15 cameras clicking in their face at the same time – serious mamarazzi! After we were done at University of Toronto we headed down to the distillery district for a maternity session.
Thanks for coming models and photographers!
Even the cab drivers were wondering what the heck was going on…

The little girl is actually the second place winner, but I had some fun photographing her brother today too. We were supposed to have the session at a beautiful park but got rained out at the last minute.

Toronto Cutest Kid Contest! {Toronto Child-Baby Photographer}

The contest is now over. Thank you to everyone who participated and everyone who came over to vote. It was a great success! Congratulations to our two winners – Aaden and Indiana!
MMP Photography is hosting a Cutest Kid Contest! Starting Saturday, June12, 2010 you can submit a photo of your cutest kid, and the winner will receive a free photo session with MMP Photography, as well as 1-8×10, 2-5×7’s, one set of 8 wallets and one full resolution image! Here are the details:
TO ENTER
- One entry per child
- Snapshots only, no professional portraits
- You must be the parent to legal guardian of the child you enter into the contest
- Child must be between 6 months and 10 years of age on the date of entry
- You must have permission/rights to use the photo you enter
- Photo must have been taken within the past 6 months
- Photos will be accepted from 10:00 p.m, Friday, June 11 until 10:59 pm on Friday, June 25, 2010 (E.S.T.) via email. This is an update. I will be accepting new entries throughout the contest. So if you just heard about the contest from a friend you are more welcome to enter a child!
- Only photos emailed to mmpphotographs@gmail.com with the subject line MMP CONTEST during the previously mentioned time will be accepted
- Include your child’s name, age and birthday in the email (first name and age will be posted for viewing), as well as your name and contact information
- Anyone can enter. You do not have to be a previous client so tell all of your friends about it. You may rally as many voters as you like – friends, family, co-workers, etc. You get the idea!
HOW PHOTOS WILL BE JUDGED
* All entries will be uploaded into an album by MMP Photography no later than Friday, June 18, 2010, on the MMP Photography Facebook fan page www.facebook.com/mmpphotography
* To vote for a photo you MUST be a ‘fan’ (or under the new facebook system ‘like’) MMP Photography
* Click ‘like’ for the photo you are voting for in the MMP Photography album labeled ‘Spring 2010 Cutest Kid Contest’
* Photo with the most ‘likes’ will be the winner. Comments permitted, but WILL NOT count towards the total number of votes
* MMP Photography will verify that all ‘likes’ of the winning photo come from MMP Photography facebook fans, ‘likes’ from non-fans will not be counted
* Voting will close Saturday, June 26 at 10:59 p.m.
* Official winner will be notified and announced no later than Thursday, July 1, 2010 (Canada Day!)
WHAT YOU WILL WIN
* The parent or legal guardian of the child in the photo that receives the most ‘likes’ will receive a free photo session with MMP Photography, 1 8×10 photo, 2 5×7 photos, 1 set of 8 wallets, and 1 full resolution digital image
* 2nd place winner will receive a $75 credit with MMP Photography
* 3rd place winner will receive a $50 credit with MMP Photography
* Photo session must be booked within 30 days of winning, and completed before August 27, 2010
* Prize can not be altered or changed in any way, and not redeemable for cash. Up to three siblings, if applicable, may attend the session as well.
* Additional prints will be available for purchase at regular MMP Photography retail prices
* Not redeemable towards Newborn Photography
